A ceremony was organized to officially inaugurate a Financial Inclusion Center in Mahiganj, Rangpur which will function as a structure to service all MSME financial needs. The ceremony was held on April 6, 2018.
The Financial Inclusion Center is equipped to provide a host of crucial financial services, starting from offering savings packages, money transfer services, to loan financing, business support and money-management training for both individuals and businesses. The Center is expected to strive to drive social good in your proud and flourishing community. This venture has been established through the combined efforts of Bangladesh SME Corporation, Bank Asia and has been supported by contributions made by DFID (UK Government).
The chief guest of the event was the General Manager of Bangladesh Bank’s Sustainable Finance Division. Mr. Manoj Kumar Biswas. He presided over the ceremony and had shared a few words regarding the venture. Following that, the Deputy Director and focal person of Alliance for Financial Inclusion, Mr. Asif Iqbal shared a few words regarding Bangladesh Bank’s drive to enhance financial inclusion across Bangladesh and how this unique concept ties in with our Vision 2021. With reference to that, Mr. Sarder Akhter Hamed, Head of MSME Division at Bank Asia Limited, also shared Bank Asia’s vision of promoting Financial Inclusion across Bangladesh through their Agent Banking platform. Special guest of the event was Mr. Kazi Mohammad Jonnun, an eminent businessman and avid social development influencer who also shared few words with the present audience. Along with the high officials from Bangladesh Bank and Bank Asia Limited, the Honourable Chairman of Bangladesh SME Corporation, Dr. Hasan Imam was also there who glorified the podium and shared a few words regarding the initiative and had officially inaugurated the newly established Financial Inclusion Center.
At the ending of the ceremony, some people from the audience were facilitated to open bank accounts at our Financial Inclusion Center.
